It stops being cute real fast when they won't mind a thing you say. Next comes the phase where friends & family get tired of it & don't want to hear it any more. Then you begin to get excuses why they don't come around. Though they still like you they can't stand yr children (I could not stand some of my sister's chilxren).
Soon you will have young teens with smart mouthed sass who won't come home when they are told to. Won't do chores as they are told. Skip school. Won't show respect…… Then they reach the stage where they want to drive. They won't bring the car back by curfew. They will expect an allowance w/o doing a thing for it because they believe they are entitled. They will not want to work for a thing.
They will expect YOU to buy them a car, ins.& gas-and still give them an allowance. Their behavior becomes worse & worse over time. These are the children who will be disrespectful to teachers, be more apt to drink, get on drugs, & will run away from home be cause they don't see that they are the ones in the wrong… (though you started it…..).
There comes the gut wrenching phase when you know you love your child/children but you DO NOT LIKE THEM & even YOU will feel better when they are not around. NEVER EVER TEACH YOUR BABIES TO ARGUE. NEVER EVER ALLOW YR CHILDREN TO ARGUE WITH YOU AND, ABOVE ALL- DO NOT E V E R ARGUE WITH YR BABIES/ CHILDREN (OR OTHER'S CHILDREN)!
Just as serious is the situation where parents make a child mind & show respect to them- but not to anyone else. Not teachers & not policemen. So believe me, one day that comes around to where the kid gets smart mouthed enough to not mind & respect you either. Ive seen it happen time after time after time, in family after family….
Oh yes, the cycle can start before babies can talk. Take another look at the above vid… some of those babies are just talking gibberish but you can bet they know they are arguing and sassing while their parents laugb. The laughing will cease & …. It reaches a very sad end. You & yr child will have no common ground. No love for each other. -
