My sons are 22 months apart. When I was pregnant at Christmas I wanted to introduce my current baby to the idea, so I got him a baby doll. (A boy doll, of course. Not anatomically correct, but it was the only way to get my husband (now ex) to agree to the doll.) So, he had a lot of presents. I handed them to him one at a time so he could play with them briefly before opening another. I handed him the package with the doll, and when he opened it, he just stared at it. I got it out of the box and handed it to him. He was still suspicious. He took it by the leg and walked toward the kitchen. At the doorway, he swung his arm back, threw the doll into the kitchen, then returned to the living room. Later on, I snuck it back into his pile of new toys. When he saw it, he repeated the same process. He wasn’t gonna compete with a stinkin’ doll! 😂 He wasn’t thrilled about his baby brother at first, either. ❌👶 😬 -
